  • How can I get a phone plan activated as a new customer/number?

There is a really great deal through my employer where I get $300 off of a smartphone* purchase but it is only eligible if I am switching carriers or activating a new phone number. Is there a way I can activate as a new number and phone to use this deal and then port over my old number and cancel my old phone (contract is up) and dump the new number?

The $300 off would make the iPhone 6S 64GB only $230 with a 2 year contact.

  • Is there a safe way to transfer tickets online?

I am hoping to buy NFL tickets online as I am not local and will be traveling to the game the day of. I have found a lot of tickets on craigslist (duh). In the listing that I am interested in the person claims to have seasons tickets, therefore can transfer the tickets electronically. Is there a way to make this safe for both of us?

  • How do I calculate monthly interest owed when interest based per annum?

I am trying to figure out how much interest to charge on outstanding strata fees. The BC Strata Act states that interest is to be charged at a rate of 10% per annum compounded annually. The member's fees are 4 months late, how do I calculate this? Or do they simply not own interest until a year has passed? Thanks in advance!

  • How are men's inseams measured for different styles jeans?

Specifically, I am wondering if my husband who normally wears a 32" inseam in relaxed jeans would be a 32" or 34" inseam in a slimmer cut seeing as how the inseam starts higher in more fitted jeans (or does it?).

  • What determines where a package enters Canada from the US?

I have been waiting a couple weeks for a pair of boots from the southern USA. With USPS it notifies you when the package gets to Canada Customs, after that it is no longer tracked from what I understand. I am wondering if anyone knows if my package would enter Canada at the closest point to the shipper (Ontario) or if it would enter Canada in the closest point to me (British Columbia)?

  • Any ideas on how to run a 50/50 type draw legally?

I am running a free family dance and in an effort to recoup some costs I was hoping to sell 50/50 tickets to pay for the DJ services. I applied for a BC gaming license and was denied as this is viewed as being for personal gain (frustrating). All I am looking for is to cover some of the expenses by selling tickets to those who are financially able to do so (rather than charging admission which may be a barrier for some families). Any ideas on how I could do something legally? Maybe I am not thinking outside the box...hoping others might be more creative! Thanks in advance :)

  • Do my gutters need cleaning?

Here is a picture of my gutter http://www.shareimages.com/image.php?63350-pJOgl5S...

Does it require cleaning? We have been doing it yearly but there are little in the way of trees with leaves in our area so I think that might be overkill. I would like to spend the money on other maintenance if possible and wait til next year. Cheers!

  • Can anyone offer advice in regards to my grad school personal essay?

I am having trouble getting my personal essay to under the limit of 600 words. I feel that I have a great deal of experience that is relevant to my application. I am worried that if I don't showcase it in my essay that it might be overlooked, I guess I am needing reassurance that those reviewing the applications are going to factor in the whole application, i.e. will read the section outlining my experience, is this the case? Also, there is a section after the person essay that states "If you have additional information that is relevant to your application, please enter it here. (Please limit your comments to 100 words or less.)" what are they looking for here? I don't want to leave it blank, but I can't think of what else to include as I have detailed my education, work experience, personal essay, volunteer experience, professional development etc already. This is in regards to applying the a masters of clinical counselling program. Thanks for any help in advance.

  • Who should I get grad school recommendations from?

I am in the process of applying to grad school and I need three recommendations/references.

One needs to be an academic reference, my best two options are: a nurse who taught a 9-month college program that I received a certificate from. I was one of 17 students that she taught full time and I did very well in the program. My second option is from a university professor whom I took one of my grad school prereqs from, so being one of 80-100 in the class I feel like she wouldn't be able to say a ton about me. So what holds more weight? The college teacher who knows me and my academic ability on a higher level, or the university prof with a PhD?

In terms of my professional reference (so if I only used one academic reference I would need two), I have worked in a health care facility for almost 6 years now. There is one nurse in particular that raves about me and my "intelligence" who I know would give me a glowing reference, but I also have two more options....my coordinator (oversees staff in the facility) who has followed a very similar education path as myself, and third would be the director of the facility whom is an MD and highly regarded...only downside is that I know he would be brief (busy guy, I've seen letters he writes).

I may also be able to get a reference from where I volunteer which is related as well (they normally give letters after a specific amount of hours, which I am still working towards) but I am actively participating and striving there so I don't see it being an issue if I need to pull from there.

Thoughts and ideas would be very very much appreciated! This process seems a little overwhelming at the moment!

  • Any ideas to help me resolve a garbage/recycle problem in our strata?

I am newly the president for our small strata (8 townhouses) and I cannot stand the mess people are making in our garbage area. It is a small fenced (3ft) area in our parking lot, 2 garbage bins, 4 recycling. One owner in particular owns a cleaning business and is constantly throwing out her cleaning garbage (5 large bags in one instance last week) that was witnessed and filled an entire bin. Other people (unknown) are simply leaving garbage and large pieces of cardboard inside the area without breaking it down or sorting it accordingly. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can to do mitigate this? I was hoping to be able to fine people as our strata does not have the budget to rebuild or change the area (such as taller fence/locks). I am not sure if it matters but we reside in British Columbia. THANKS!!!

  • Should I file jointly or separate on Canadian taxes?

I entered my tax information on Ufile (free as I am a student) and it gave me a refund of $3000 with my income around $22,000 and my tuition credits applied. When I added my husband to my tax return my refund dropped to $1200, in the column detailing his return it shows he is entitled to a $41 return. Is there any way I can file separate and get my $3000 and he get his $41 or would he then owe? Thank you!

Basically what I am asking is if a burn the ISO for the first disc will it all be there? I am mostly interested in the first disc anyway.
