  • What is a good fragrance free sunscreen that leaves no white cast?

I am very fair skinned. I currently use a Neutrogena sunscreen, but it leaves a horrible white cast on me. I have to spend 10 minutes extra rubbing it in and by the time I'm done, I feel like I've rubbed the whole product off my face. I typically stayed with drugstore sunscreen since they were cheaper and I have limited money. But I have agoraphobia so I rarely go out except to get the necessities, so a tube should last me all summer. So I think spending a little extra so I don't have a white cast is worth it.

Anyone have any recommendations for a mineral sunscreen that leaves no white cast, but is also fragrance-free?

  • Will Target return an item not in the original box?

I bought my mom a Cuisinart cutlery set for Christmas for $100 from Target. Less than a month later, as she was cooking dinner, the block fell completely apart and all the knives fell on the floor and almost hit her foot. The block was glued and the glue came undone. She called Target and they said to bring it to the store and they would see what they would do. Then we had a big snowstorm hit and we lost track of time. Now, our date to return is coming up (March 16).

We live in a very small town and the closest Target is over 90 minutes away. My mom, when she got the cutlery set, assumed it was brand new and nothing to worry about so she threw the box away. So my question is, is it worth driving 90 minutes to see if Target will replace it or should we just try and glue the thing back together again? I'm not sure if Target will even replace it since we have no box.

  • Can I use king size sheets on a queen size bed?

So I was finally able to afford to upgrade from my twin bed to a queen size bed. But I am having issues with my bed sheets. I got queen size bed sheets with a queen heated blanket and all barely fit. I spend every night spending almost an hour making my bed because I have to walk back and forth because unless the sheets are on absolutely perfect, one side is too short. I've measured my bed and my mother's bed and they are both the same: 60×80 and 9 inches thick. But she has no issues with her bedsheets. She got hers from Walmart and I got mine from Kohl's. It makes it hard because I'm a toss and turner at night and the sheets completely fall apart within hours.

My question is, has anyone ever tried using king size sheets on a queen size bed and is it better? I regret buying this bed because I dread making this bed every night. I paid close almost $250 for all the bedsheets and the heated blanket and the only things that fits properly are the bedskirt and the pillowcases. If I could, I'd return them all but I've already slept on them for 3 nights.

  • Should I dye or cut my hair first?

So I am planning on getting my haircut and coloring it at home. But I can't decide which one I should do first. I'm not planning on using bleach, just dyeing my hair a darker brown color. I do have thick hair and it is the longest it has ever been before. I normally need 3 boxes of hair dye, so I might need 4 or 5 this time. I am planning on cutting my hair shoulder length.

Which do you suggest: dyeing first or cutting first?

  • Is the 2010 Ford Escape XLS a good vehicle?

I'm interested in buying a 2010 Ford Escape XLS from a used car dealer. It has 113,000 miles on it and it's $7,000.

Is the 2010 Ford Escape a good, reliable type of vehicle?

  • Getting another dog. Should I get a male or female?

So I've been thinking about getting another dog. My 5 lb. Chihuahua is 11 years old, but I really want her to experience life as a sister and have a friend. She has never really been around dogs before because I live in a small town where EVERYONE has big dogs and I won't take the chance of her being around a dog that could swallow her whole.

Anyway, she is a very chill dog. She can be held for hours. She never bites and when we go on walks, she goes up to complete strangers to get attention (which is why I've had to cut back on our walks since Covid). She's a very sensitive dog. But even though she's "older" she still has tons of energy. She can walk over 3 miles at a times and as a ball of energy. Because of how gentle she is and how well I know her, I am looking for a puppy. She rarely barks and when she is scared, she runs to me. I truly believe that if she was ever attacked that she would not fight back. I just think it's safer going with a puppy.

My only dilemma is trying to decide between a girl or a boy. Personally, I would prefer a female. But which do you think would be the best for HER? I have heard rumors that 2 females tend to fight more.

  • Would I like a bloody mary?

So it is my 32nd birthday January 15th. I'm not a big fan of alcohol. I've tried several different beers, several different wines, flavored smironoffs, bottled strawberry daiquiri, and a alcoholic concoction that a friend suggested (mountain dew, kool-aid, and vodka). I must have a very sensitive tongue because I just can't get passed the taste.

I was considering trying a bloody mary. I found a YouTube video with a traditional recipe of a bloody mary. I absolutely LOVE tomato juice, so I feel like if the juice tastes like tomato juice I will love it.

So, as someone who hates alcohol but loves tomato juice, do you recommend that I make a bloody mary for my birthday or will I most likely hate it as well?

  • Should I get a dog stroller or a dog purse?

I'm trying to decide if I should buy a dog stroller or a purse to put my dog in. I have a 4.5 lb. 11 year old Chihuahua so she can't really go very far before she get tired. The purse I'm looking at costs $50 and the stroller costs $80.

What is making me confused is I like to walk sometimes up to 5 miles. So if I get a purse, that will put strain on my back and I already have back problems so I'm not sure if it is the best to carry her for a long distance. For the stroller, if I walk in the park I can keep it in my car until I need it. But if I decide to walk a long distance, I would have to have someone push the stroller while I walk my dog.

So which do you think I should get? The purse or stroller? I'm not planning on keeping my Chihuahua in there the whole walk, just when she gets tired. I usually hold her for some time to let her rest and then I see if she wants to walk more after she's rested 15-20 minutes.

  • Which vehicle should I get?

So I'm looking for a vehicle. I have about $5,300 to spend. I have little knowledge about cars, but my mechanic said that if I find something I like, bring it to him so he could check it out to make certain there are no problems underneath before I buy it.

I found 2 vehicles that I am trying to decide. One is a 2005 white Chevrolet small SUV. I forget what kind it is because I've looked at so many vehicles the last few months, but I'm pretty sure it's an equinox. It has around 170,000 miles. The second vehicle is a 2006 silver Buick Lucerne CXS and it has 116,000 miles.

The Chevy is from a car lot and is $3,000 and the Buick is from a seller on Facebook and is $5,000. I know the Buick has less miles, but what is leaving me confused on which one is because I really wanted an SUV. The last car I had (Ford Taurus), I was always getting leg cramps because of how little of leg room there was and I'm not even that tall (I'm 5'8")!

So which vehicle would you recommend?

  • What's the chances of survival with Stage IV stomach cancer?

My cousin's husband was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer last spring. They were told that it was inoperable so they can only do chemo to try and reduce the cancer. Luckily, I have never known anyone with cancer. I'm 31 years old and this is my first brush with it. Because of Covid, I haven't seen them lately. Today, my cousin posted up a picture and in the background I could see her husband. He's lost probably 80 pounds and he's aged 40 years in the last year. I was certain he was going to beat this, but now I think reality is starting to hit me that my cousin and her 2 young daughters could lose their father.

So I wanna know, what are the chances of surviving with inoperable Stage IV stomach cancer?

  • Should I buy the car?

So I am in desperate need of a car. My cousin helped me get a car in the summer since her husband knew more about vehicles and it turned out to be complete junk. I've had the thing in the shop more than on the road. Every week something breaks down in it. I've been out of town in it twice and ive gotten stranded for 6 hours in the blazing heat and then the second time, the shocks went out (but, luckily I was able to make it home safely).

So this time I was trying to find a vehicle myself. Unfortunately, because of my crappy vehicle, I can only stay in my small hometown. I'm also a little afraid to buy from sellers after what my cousin got me. So I've been focusing my attention on car lots. Thankfully, I have a great mechanic and he said before we buy anything, to bring it over to his shop and he will make certain there is nothing wrong underneath.

I found a car that I am interested in. It's from a car lot that just started last July. The car is a white 2011 Malibu. It has 168,000 miles. My issue is that on the back bumper it looks like someone has hit it. It hasn't left a dent, but it has left marks on the back bumper and I'm wondering because of this is it worth paying almost $5300 for it.

What do you think? Is it still a good deal or should I pass? The car looks perfect except for the mark in the back.

  • Will paint fumes make a 5 lb chihuahua sick?

I live in a duplex (I live upstairs, a business lives downstairs). Recently my neighbors moved. Tonight my new neighbors have decided to paint and they apparently have not fanned anything because my whole house smells like a can of paint. Like STRONG. I'm trying to put fans out to air my house out, but a thought has occurred to me. If this is bothering me, what is it doing to my 4.5 pound chihuahua?

Could my chihuahua get sick from this? What do you suggest I do? I live in a small town, so there are no motels or hotels and I have no dependable family who will let us stay with them with my dog included. So if it's not the house, it's the car. Any suggestions other than the fans?

  • What is the best box spring?

So I got a Serta mattress at Mattress Firm. I still need to get the box spring. I was going to get it at Mattress Firm, but I let my mom talk me out of it (the box spring was over $200 and she wanted me to look someplace else to see if I could find a cheaper one).

Well I've looked and now I'm confused. This is the first bed I am buying and I had no idea that there were 2 different types of box springs. I could get one through Serta (which is the brand of mattress I got but it is more expensive). The mattress appears to come already assembled, which is like the current box spring I have. Or I could go to Walmart and get a significantly cheaper box spring but it has to be assembled (my cousin's husband has already agreed to help us assemble and move the mattress upstairs so I don't have to pay a delivery fee).

But I'm wondering, which box spring is the best? Which one will last the longest?

  • What size shirt should I get my mom?

I'm thinking about getting my mom a t-shirt from her favorite artist but I'm unsure of what size I should get her. She doesn't normally wear band t-shirts because 1) they are too expensive to her and 2) the ones she likes are usually online and she doesn't know how to work the internet. So what would be a good size for her? She typically wears blouses she buys at Kohl's, but hasn't had any luck finding any since she's so picky. She wears a 2X, but that is because she likes her shirts loose and long.

The website states this shirt is unisex and is "Printed on 100% Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton." Do you think I should get an XL or an XXL?

Or do you think I should pass on the shirt and maybe buy her a tablet and try and teach my 71 year old mother about the internet?

  • Shipping breakables through the mail. Should I buy it or not?

Because of Covid and my car being broke down currently, I've been having to do all my Christmas shopping completely online this year. I was thinking about getting my mom a new dinnerware set, but the only store we have in my town is Walmart. I was wondering if anyone had experience shipping plates through the mail. Should I just pass on the set and get her something else or do you think it would be fine?

  • When car shopping, is it best doing it on Facebook Marketplace or going to car dealerships? ?

I'm looking for a new vehicle and this is my first time car shopping myself. I'm looking for a used car for $5,000 or less. I'm willing to go to $6,000 but that is only if I'm madly in love with it that I can't pass it up.

I was wondering if it is better to go car shopping via Facebook or just go to my local dealerships?

  • Mailing out a gift?

My cousin is having her 8th birthday party next month. My mom and I usually attend, but we are both considered high risk and don't want to take the chance since our town is at the highest Covid positive rate in the state.

We were thinking about sending a card with money in it, but it just seems too informal to me. So I was considering mailing a gift instead. They live out of town (about 20 minutes away), so I'd have to mail it.

I have never mailed a gift before. Any advice? I'm trying to decide if it would be better to send cash or mail out a gift.

  • Which is better: CD player or a vinyl player?

So I am in need of a new CD player as I've had mine for close to 15 years. All I keep hearing is people going on about vinyl, so I'm wondering if I should switch to a vinyl record player.

So which one is better? When I like listening to music, I like it loud to drown out loud neighbors so would a vinyl give great sound compared to my CD player?

  • Should I vote early?

I live in a city that has about 14,000 people, but most of that is people from out in the country. I won't say who I'm voting for because I don't want to start arguments here, but my city usually always votes a certain way and I'm always voting the opposite.

Anyway, my mother and I are both considered high risk (my mother is 71, diabetic, with a mild case of asthma while I'm 31 and have always had horrible asthma since I've been 2). We want to vote in person because we don't trust mail in voting. I bought a cardigan a few months ago from Kohl's and what usually takes a week to ship out, took over a month to get. Because of that, I'm a little afraid about a ballot. So my mom and I decided to do it in person.

Typically, we vote on election day and there is usually only about 3-4 people in line, but this year I'm not so sure. I am wondering if it would be better to wait until election day like we typically do or if it would be safer to vote early? Regardless of Covid and my fears of it, we're still voting.

  • Do I need to double cleanse?

This year, I have gotten into skincare after watching several YouTube skincare gurus. I turned 31 this year, so I guess better late than never.

Anyway, I have seen people talk about double cleansing which I don't do. I suffer from agoraphobia, so I don't leave my house very much. Because of this, I only wear sunscreen when I go grocery shopping (which is only a few times a month) and I only wear makeup when I go to doctor's appointments (which I don't do anymore since a mask covers it up). I know they say you should wear sunscreen even inside because you pass windows, but I live in an upstairs apartment. I suffer from migraines which happens to be triggered by sunlight. So my windows have a mini-blind AND a black curtain to keep the sun out. So I can go weeks without ever wearing makeup or sunscreen.

Now, my skin is very dry. Because of this, I only wash my face once a day (at night). If there is a day I do wear sunscreen, I double cleanse that night. The products I use are CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, and The Ordinary Niacinamide serum. I am thinking about switching my cleanser and also have other serums from The Ordinary to add to my regimen, but haven't done it yet because I'm wanting to add them slowly since I do have sensitive skin.

So my question is: on days where I don't wear makeup or sunscreen, do I still need to double cleanse?
