Why do we make do with the government we have?
They're so inept... why do we just accept it instead of striving for something more?

Because people refuse to allow themselves to think beyond the confines of two party partisan politics. We think the people we've hired to work for us are doing a shitty job, yet we refuse to fire them because that would require hiring someone who lacks our preferred partisan credentials. We have a shitty government because all we expect out of our politicians is to not affiliate with the bad guys.
