They're always trouble.
Doesn't matter what country, doesn't matter what era, hillbillies are always angry that the economics of the modern world haven't conspired to make them rich, rather than the people who live in urban centers, and since they tend to be isolated, they also get upset that their parochial , local views aren't widely shared.
