I'm allergic to quite a few things. I am even allergic to Benedryl. Which is what they give you if you are allergic to certain medications.Even as a child the doctor did not give me a couple of vaccines. As he was afraid I would have a bad reaction. But as a result. I cannot travel outside of the USA. The Pope has nothing to do with whether it's safe or not. But just so you know. The government said to wear a mask to avoid getting it. My cousin got it. She wore a mask at all times. But she got it anyway. She is healthy. She said it was just like having a bad cold. But I know that's not true for everyone.

Source(s): I am waiting to see how the majority of people handle it. Before I get it.

because they believe that they're either accepting the mark of the Beast or are afraid to get diseases from the Covid 19 shot

It started with the lying trumpster.  He made GETTING vaxxed a sign of disloyalty to him.  (What a piece of sh!t!). Then his fan club, the "Q" jumped in and spread russian bulls hit--"tracking molecules" or submarines or something in the god damned needles!!  It does NOT alter our DNA!!!  And it's NOT gene therapy.  The Pope has said that it's OK to take the vax.  The trumpster took it AFTER he had the friggin' virus, but he hid that for months.

Among the more than 7 million people who've received the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine, seven have experienced very rare blood clots in the brain.  1 in 1 million shots.

Because of misinformation, fear of the unknown, fear of needles, being in denial that COVID is a huge problem and not just a cough.  When  some ppl can't handle a crisis, they just close their eyes hoping that it will just go away just like a baby will close his eyes when he sees something scary.  The baby is hoping that if he can't see the scary sight, it isn't there.  Ppl need to realize that refusing a vaccine isn't being neutral-- the side effect of doing nothing is joining the 560K Americans who have already died of COVID (the disease).  BTW, blood clots are not associated with the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.  These vaccines have NOT been paused.  I am a Republican who wears a mask and got vaccinated.

People are concerned of the unknown factors

  • Some people don't like the thought of pumping drugs into your body, when they have no idea what it will do or cause. People get scared / intimidated over what they don't know.

I am not afraid. I am unwilling to take a vaccine made using aborted fetal cell lines.  And so far, all covid vaccines are.

If that were not a consideration, I might still be wary.  This is the very first time that any vaccines have been produce for any kind of coronavirus.  It is new methodology.  If they were not unethical, and if I were in much danger of catching the disease, and if it were more dangerous than it is, I would most likely take it.  Otherwise, I would probably just protect myself and wait to see what happens.

Some of them believe the anti-vaccine misinformation that's been spread - some of it, reportedly, by Russian trolls because Russia wanted to sell the US it's vaccine. Some of them are just being selfish and stupid. As long as people refuse to be vaccinated, there will continue to be new cases every day, and that means that things won't open up, even for those of us who got the vaccine.

As for the "I haven't gotten it yet so I must be immune" argument- there are over 60,000 new cases EACH DAY in the US. Those are mostly people who hadn't gotten it over the past 12 months, but now have it. Many thought that they were immune so didn't need the vaccine.

Because they seem more scared of the incredibly small chance of blood clots, despite the fact that COVID has a SIGNIFICANTLY higher risk of them.

Do I personally even have much risk of getting covid?

I have type O blood, which we know reduces our risk of getting covid.

I have sufficient levels of vitamin D, which we know reduces are risk of covid infection.

I'm pasty white, which reduces our chance of getting covid.

I don't have pre-existing conditions which reduces our chances of getting covid.

I don't smoke which reduces our chance of getting covid.

I don't like people in my personal space, which according to WHO reduces my chance of getting covid by 82%.

My community of 600,000 people has had 222 cases of Covid in April.

The chance of me being around any of those 222 in a normal world where we have things going on = not likely.

In the land of covid, when we don't have many gathering, almost impossible.

Of course, I could get covid.

I could also get hit by a car while walking across the street.

The risk of the vaccine far outweighs the potential reward.

If you don't agree with my stance, that's fine.  Because we know we get covid from CLOSE CONTACT not casual contact.  And I won't be having close contact with you.
