Why idiots like to travel to russia?

Russia is the biggest country in the world and you can get a beer and a hot dog in KFC opposite the Kremlin, so if you don't want to see the sites, you can stuff your face and get slightly piddled.

I understand that Siberia is beautiful this time of year. 

Russia is a vast place with a rich culture and long history.  It's just their current leadership that is the problem.  Well, they've pretty much always had a problem with leadership but they seem to do interesting things even within a corrupt political system.  Their system of government keeps changing but the corruption is ever-present.  That doesn't mean that the people aren't good people though.  There is a huge amount of diversity in Russia.
