Dangerous to visit Japan for the Olympic games? ?
The New York Times and the BMJ expressed their concern about Tokyo Olympic to be held as scheduled. I would like them to say that to IOC, the host, for Japan is only a venue place and has no right to cancel it.
It is not a right thing to hold the Olympic games here in Japan, since Japanese families, workers and children have been giving up so many opportunities like club activities, traveling, or returning to our hometown, and so on, and the government currently requests us to keep giving up.
Do you think nothing is more important than human life? I do...
The world has not conquered corona yet. In such a situation, the Olympic should not be held.
Hello Skeptik. Thanks for your reply. I agree with you. I think the athletes also should not gather here in Tokyo. It is too risky for them considering the world's corona disaster has not ended yet.
I just hope IOC gives up the Olympic.

I hate to say it but I think the Olympics are going to be canceled. They already were postponed for a year and now it's less than another year before the Winter Olympics start.

Do you mean coronavirus by "corona"?
I've never seen any native speaker of English refer to coronavirus as just "corona."

The Olympic Committee is not holding the Olympic games as scheduled.
They were scheduled for the summer of 2020.

Skeptic did not express an opinion. He stated a fact- no one is being allowed into Japan to attend the Olympics. The athletes will be isolated from the general population- they should all be vaccinated by then, so they won't be a risk. If the people of Japan get themselves vaccinated, too, then there should be no program. The IOC is not going to cancel the Olympics this summer.

It's a system that both Japan and the IOC don't want to pay penalties, so they push hard and the public gets annoyed.

Yeah.
That's why nobody can.
No one from outside of Japan is being permitted to attend any of the events.
