I am not sure if there are more shootings, or if the media is just covering the shootings more than they used to. Part of it is due to rampant mental health issues, and another part of it is people resisting arrest. Don't resist arrest, follow police orders when they stop or question you, and bad things won't happen. Fight it in court, not on the street. If you fight it on the street, you end up getting shot. And if the person who gets shot is someone of color, people riot. 

Gang shootings are not as bad as the late 80s early 90s

Pent up demand from last year's lockdowns.  You can't have a mass shooting without a crowd.

Yes I've seen those in news. White kids are running out of hobbies. Buy you children new video games, moms.
