Mother arrested after three young children found slain in Reseda – Why wasn’t the term ‘mass killing’ used in the article? ?

Why isn’t public outrage being fomented as part of this conversation? Most factors are the same except the weapon used.

    1) Three does not met the threshold for "a mass."  

    2) Family annihilations are their own category.  "Mass" crimes implies unrelated indiscriminate individuals.

    That term generally applies to killings of unrelated individuals and usually refers to four or more.
