What are the odds of this happening?

I flipped a coin, landed heads. Flipped it again, landed tails. Knocked out all the possibilities in just two tries

Update:

I dont think anyone could possibly ever know what these odds are.

Probability doesn't mean it'll happen that way every time.

  • There are 4 possible scenarios:

    HH

    HT

    TH

    TT

The probability of hitting any of them is 0.25

    The probability of getting 1 heads and 1 tails in 2 flips is 0.50 (because 0.25 + 0.25 = 0.50)

The probability of specifically getting heads and then tails is 0.25

    Even odds, 50% probability.

The first toss is certain to "knock out" one of the possibilities. The probability of the second toss being different from the first and "knocking out" the second possibility is 50%.
