It's the extra money the Governments put on anything or any service or product that is sinful to buy or use.
So, for example, cigarettes, tobacco and cigars have a sin-tax on them because they cause Cancer and then the National Health has to pay for it
Then alcohol has a sin tax on it because people can become alcoholics and that costs the National Health money to treat them etc.
Betting has a sin tax on it because people can become addicted to betting and cause no end of debt problems.
There are other things but those are the ones that come to mind off hand

Taxes on things like alcohol, or tobacco are generally called "sin taxes." That is not the official name, but a term that many people use.

Syntax is the set of rules that describe correct ways of constructing sentences.
As a reference to this, "sin taxes" are taxes on vices like alcohol and cigarettes.

Sin Tax is a name given to taxes collected on things like cigarettes, booze, beer, pot (where legal).
The term has no force of law and is just a common name for that kind of tax.

It is a tax on things that are considered "sin" by some religious people. Things that are for pleasure, not essential. Cigarettes, alcohol, movies, concerts, night clubs.

Sin tax is when they pass the wicker basket in church.
Remember that you were born a sinner and need to pay up! God always needs money! We now why, don't we?
