CV is like your life’s work while resume is a listing of jobs that’s vital to the position you’re applying for. Isn’t Curriculum Vitae Latin for life’s course or curriculum.
CV is for an academia position like a professor. Resume is for the private sector.
CV might include any publications that you have. It pretty much includes everything that you’ve accomplished in the field such as grants that you’ve gotten, scholarships that you got, awards, etc.
CV can be several pages. Resume is 1 page.
