    1.  Classic and a standard setter for not only the horsemen, but other great factions to come.  I was never a huge Ole fan, nor did I feel as if he fit in the group, but again, his presence helped set the archetype.

    2. I'm not fond of Lex being in the Horsemen, but I get that they were trying to put him with experienced veterans and get him better.  He just seemed too much like the all american quarterback to fit in in my opinion.

    3. This one is the standard to me.  Flair's at the helm, Arn and Tully are teaming immaculately and running interference, and Windham represents a promising future.

    4. I liked Sting in the Horsemen, even though it always seemed like a short-lived concept.  This might be the first iteration of the faction that I came to know as a kid.  Tag on the legendary rivalry between Sting and Flair, and you have the makings for legendary booking.

    5.  Once again, Sid doesn't fit in retrospect, but I loved this lineup as a kid.  I was a huge Sid mark though.

    6. Poor Paul Roma.  He wasn't a bad wrestler, and he was a good enough looking guy, but he just didn't have that Horseman swagger or natural ability between the ropes.7. This one may have been one of the best 'modern' lineups.  Pillman added chaos and inevitably inner turmoil despite constantly being a died-in-the-wool Horseman faithful.  Benoit was Benoit, and Benoit simply made sense as a part of the Horsemen.

    8.  Everything was great about this one on paper...except Mongo.9. Didn't really last long enough to make an impact, but having Jarrett in the horsemen isn't a horrible idea.  Or at least it's a better idea than Roma or Mongo.

    10.  Didn't last long enough to make an impact and still had Mongo in it.  Would've loved a Flair, Benoit, Malenko, Hennig lineup.  Perfect was a brilliant idea for a member, but he turned almost immediately for nWo11.  Great lineup, but really didn't get the push they deserved.

Well, like most things, The Original is the best.

But with Vince not liking Ole Anderson. he won't be going in.

    HOF for the Jobbers

    The originals were the best.

  • First Incarnation: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard and The Great James J. Dillon. A Well Tooled Machine that ambushed Wrestlers, beat them up in the building outside The Building a Great Combination. My personal favorite version of The Horsemen.

Second Incarnation: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Lex Luger and The Great James J. Dillon. Tried hard to live up to the legacy of the first incarnation, but were never quite as good. Lex was still learning to wrestle at that point.Third Incarnation: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and The Great James J. Dillon. 4 Great Wrestlers who excelled as Singles Wrestlers and Tag Team Wrestlers. The Shock of watching Barry Windham become a Heel after all those years as a Baby Face added shock value.Fourth Incarnation: Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Arn Anderson and Sting. They worked well as a Unit in Both Singles and Tag Team Matches. The most interesting "What If' would have been if Tully Blanchard had been signed by WCW would we have even seen this incarnation of the Four Horsemen? Probably not.Fifth Incarnation: Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Arn Anderson, Sid Vicious and Managed by Ole Anderson. Sid had the Size and the Look but was simply not a Great Wrestler.Sixth Incarnation: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and Paul Roma. Paul Roma was a Good Wrestler but was never at The Top of the Card for The WWF or WCW and he had the misfortune to come to The Horsemen after Tully, Barry, Sting, etc.Seventh Incarnation: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit, and Flyin' Brian. Each one of these men were outstanding in the ring, WCW should have tried to hold onto this version. As far as skillset, this had to be the best incarnation since The Fourth Incarnation.Eighth Incarnation: Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit, and Steve McMichael. Steve McMichael was still learning and he was no Brian Pillman.Ninth Incarnation: Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael, and Jeff Jarrett. Just as Steve McMichael was no Brian Pillman, Jeff Jarrett was a Very Good Wrestler, but personality wise he was no Tully Blanchard.Tenth Incarnation: Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael, and Curt Hennig. Just as Steve McMichael was not Brian Pillman, he wasn't Arn Anderson. However, with Ric, Chris and Curt, I probably would have ranked this combination higher if Curt Hennig hadn't been so quick to betray them to the nWo. Eleventh Incarnation: Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael, and Dean Malenko. A great combination that could have potentially been ranked a lot higher if they had spent more time together.

Aren’t you one guy short in the 6th incarnation. Doesn’t 4 horsemen mean 4 people.

I personally think the first one is the best one. I also like the third. Windham is a great horsemen so him replacing Tully didn’t change the complexion of the group.

Sting being a horsemen doesn’t sound right. Luger was better as a solo wrestler.

Benoit was a great horsemen. He’s got the grits and guts that makes him a great horsemen.

Mongo is a putz. No wonder Debra left him for stone cold.
