When did we begin protecting yellow journalism and fake news?

I've had the displeasure of living through eight Presidents and I don't think I've ever seen so much yellow journalism and fake news, from Glenn Beck claiming President Joe Biden is separating migrant families to Andy Ngo somehow duping the entire media into thinking my hometown of Portland is a war zone, some Danish far-right eugenicist named Emil O. W. Kirkegaard claiming liberals are severely more prone to mental illness on a once respected social networking site for scientists and researchers and now we're back to creating fake news about President Joe Biden's son.  Why aren't we shutting this down, its not 1947 anymore and Joseph McCarthy is dead.

Since the Bill of Rights was ratified over 2 centuries ago. December 15., 1791. Yellow journalism has been around for a long time. Now it has gone digital . Cyber warfare is succeeding and the USA is playing catch-up while urban warfare is now in rural areas in the United States.

    Biden is my 14th president.

There has been tabloid news for as long as we have had print.

Obviously...it really crept in during the early 1980's.

I figured that out 15 years ago. Most of my

generation (under 30 years old) knows it.
