One man in Iran was sentenced to prison in 1980 for thinking against the government. Could this ever be a crime in the US?

    More recently, some young Iranians performed the "Happy Song" as a video and placed their video on the internet. The Iranian government arrested the perpetrators, and they were jailed and charged and convicted for "crimes against Islam". They were sentenced to prison time and 50 lashes for their criminal acts.
