Ideally I'd try to have both those things with the same person.

Neither - To love someone and not have that love returned, or to love & care for someone more than they love & care for you means that you will never find happiness and fulfilment in your relationship.
To be loved by someone and know that they love you more than you love them will eventually lead to contempt.
A real relationship requires equal give and take.
