If I wash a covid mask with fabric softner?

Is it safe to wear it cause I heard fabric softener leaves toxins on the mask

Update:

Should I wash it again? I’m scared to wear it

    Agree with Jesus, fabric softener will not hurt you. However the one time I washed mine with fabric softener I was sorry. The pleasant scent of the softener seemed unpleasantly strong when when inhaled from my face mask.

    Not true. Fabric softener is harmless or it would not be used for clothes.

    I wash my masks by hand in a little bit of laundry detergent in the sink with hot water.

    Fabric softener won't poison you but the perfume in it might have a tendency to make you sniffle and sneeze it does me
