The GOP is to fascism as the dems are to communism. It's the wing to extreme. I agree the GOP today is the most extreme in my lifetime because of trump.

I do not know of the Republican party's official stance on war with Germany, I do know many of their more prominent members and leadership were not thrilled with the thought as declaring war on Germany would cut deeply into the profits of many corporations doing business with Germany,,, some of which even attempted to continue doing business with them after war was declared.

The GOP screwed up President Wilson's handling of the Versailles Treaty, at the end of WWI. This caused WWII.
