What kind of fish do you guys keep and how long have you been keeping fish?

I have been keeping fish for about 10 yrs now and these are the fish I keep.

Three frontosa, three tropheus, a blue dolphin of Lake Malawi, two clown loaches, one blue botia, a pair of blue polar cichlids, two electric acara, a pair of convicts whom just had their first batch of fry about 3 months old and a green terror. My frontosa have been with me the longest. All fish were bought as young juveniles.

I love German Blue rams but could never get any quality ones to keep alive long enough, so I basically just give up on them or at least for now. lol

Thanks if anyone can share what type of fish they keep, as I always like to hear stories of other fish keepers and what kind of fish they keep. Love this hobbies!

I get Bettas. With proper care then can live for 4-7 years and some can ever live 8. I love my Bettas and they are perfect. Good freshwater fish to keep, but not starter pets.

My Dad kept sixty 2 1/2 gallon tanks to breed prize winning guppies-for 30 years-never did very well. Finally gave up and kept  20 gallon show tank of fancy tail guppies.

I have kept a 75 gallon show tank with an assortment of fresh water fish for 20+ years. Currently with mostly Gourami's, Jelly Bean Parrots and Green Severums, and a few cats. I like them and so do any guests I have. And that is enough for me.

I've kept fish for about 20 years, but the last 13 or so years I've been more educated about it.

I keep mostly small community fish. Tetras, Rasboras, Guppies, Platies, Rainbows, Corydoras Catfish, Otocinclus Catfish, Dwarf Plecos, Gouramis, Bolivian Rams. I've also kept Goldfish and Bettas. As well as other aquatic critters like African Dwarf Frogs, Ornamental Snails, and Shrimp.

I've done both freshwater and saltwater for years, right now, I have a 75 gallon freshwater/live plant/ discus as my show fish, with schools of compatible tetras.

Guppies, bettas and cory cats so far. I have been keeping fish for about a year and a half now. Started with getting a betta that was in a .5 gallon "tank" with no heater, filter or anything other than a bridge. His water was so nasty because it had not been cleaned in a while. Now he is in a planted 5 gallon with a heater and filter. I took him because I knew I could do better even though I didn't know much about fish and after I got him I learned how much I love fish keeping and got more.
