I think I would rather visit India. And the main tourist attraction is probably Taj Mahal.

I would try and visit both.
Typically get along better with Muslims than Hindus, but in my experience it's easier
to find an English speaking person from India. Taj Mahal would definitely be on my list.
If in winter would also want to explore/visit Ladakh because of my love for ice hockey.
