How come Zoom was the most popular telecommunication company during the COVID-19 pandemic last year?

It had all the premium features that were good for online meetings. Google meet and other apps were not as good.

I think mostly schools used zoom. Everyone else, as far as I've noticed, uses discord for everything.

They were the ones perfectly positioned 

to take advantage of things -- they had 

just scaled up and were already rising 

in popularity as a business and education 

meeting app. I personally think the "expert 

move" was to provide free services to K–12 

schools in many countries right as the first 

shut-downs were happening.
