Are there any knock-off AutoCAD apps or softwares that I can download onto my laptop or iPhone, that are either free or really cheap?

My son and I would like to start building some of our own small projects together that utilize an Arduino, nested within a housing and other components that make up the project. So with that said, we would like some help three-dimensionally visualizing the project together through a program or app that’s something like AutoCAD.

Thanks,Ryan

If you're looking at using CAD for schematics AND PC board design, look into KiCAD.

AutoCAD and PTC Creo are free to students.  I think you can get the student version of Creo without any kind of verification.  It just gives a personal license.

Autocad is free for students. Google it.

I have used FreeCAD.  You'll have to work around deficiencies if you want to do anything fancy, but if you're just doing something simple, it might be okay.  The Linux version was not stable on my computer and graphics card last time I checked, but the Windows version was usable.

Try Tinkercad. I usually play around with it to create and test the circuits without actually blowing up components :-)

I would never buy a knock-off (fake). Want to buy a knock-off, Rolex Oyster? Contact Air Force.
