How to be honest?

Have you ever felt like no one takes you serious because you always joke all the time or just want to make people happy. How do you get that to turn around and for people to take you more serious then before? Because maybe idk what to really say anymore. It just hurts everyone when I speak.

I’m not good at this, but have seen good reads on how to be an honest person. Everybody has their own way.

For a start, be honest with yourself. Maybe you can see somebody else’s needs, and you can relate to them or put yourself in someone else’s shoes. It is good to be funny and humorous but not always. There is an appointed time for everything as the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1. Further, it says “A time for every activity under the heavens”. And it does mention a time to laugh, but there are times to be serious, too.

I understand you want to make people happy. I’m that way, too. I love making jokes when needed actually hearing good jokes. I love it when people are humorous and add some jokes here and there, and I like to add mine in sometimes.

And you need to understand other people’s situations. Sometimes you need to see reality, but hey you’re there for a good laugh when someone is feeling down.

Maybe it is an adjusment thing where you can put in a good joke somewhere, but obviously not in serious situations.

Take care, and I hope you find success in being honest and balancing serious and unserious situations (settings).
