Where could you get a real IQ test?

Just curious as to where one would be able to take a real and verified IQ test.

I doubt the internet has real IQ tests, and it seems like every one has their own way of doing it. So where would you go to take one?

Do hospitals have them? I knew someone who said they took an IQ test in the mental ward of a hospital, but not sure how accurate that is.

Just run through your search engine of choice "evaluation or educational  psychologists near me," and ask how much they charge for administering either a WISC if you are under 18 or a WAIS if you are an adult.  These Wechsler Intelligence tests are the gold standard.   You can take them online, but the ones administered by a person are more reliable. My late wife was an analyst for the Dept of Justice. Her background check revealed that her IQ was in the "NOT MEASURABLE" range (above genius). She was shepherded to the government's evaluation psychologist and given the government's test before she was hired.  The result:  "The results of the test administered by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 1952 are, quite remarkably, confirmed."

Consult a psychologist.  Any therapist would know how to direct you.  You could also send a query to your local professional association of psychologists/therapists.

They are routinely given by counseling services in public schools,  They are also given by psychologists.

Make an appointment with a professional psychologist. He should be able to give you one or help you find someone who can test you. IQ tests can be costly though. Avoid internet IQ tests; they are not reliable. IQ tests must be administered by a professional.

You probably would only be able to get a verifiable and trusted IQ test from a psychologist or psychiatrist.

A licensed *clinical psychologist* (PhD or PsyD), for instance, may administer an IQ (intelligence quotient) test.

If you're looking for someone to give an IQ test, which *might* be more affordable, the local university that offers a doctorate program in psychology (for PhD or PsyD) may have an outpatient clinic for doctoral-level students to give an IQ test as part of their clinical fieldwork and/or residency requirements (while under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist)..

For those still in high school, the Child Study Team (cst) may do some testing of students who are having difficulty with academics, the school environment, or both, which usually includes an IQ test.  The cst usually includes a school social worker, learning disabilities teacher-consultant (LDT-C), and school psychologist.  Before testing is to begin, the cst would need the parents' permission.
