What is a CSX engineers work schedule like? Do you get any time off?

    A  lot depends on seniority! The more of it a person has the greater the chance is of getting to select hours of work and where. Those with out it work when they can, every time they can so they can get to the point they have enough seniority to  be picky.

    Union rules, NTSB regulations and company policy together govern the working hours of train crews.  Contact any of those organizations for specifics.

    They work 24x7 365 -  never a day off an NO sleep - only way to keep the trains running.
