why is Israeli society not politically correct like we Americans are?

Being called a racist in America is the same as being a child rapist.

IN Israel if you are openly racist towards Arabs, you suffer no condemnation.

to anyone reading this, why are the people of Israel opposed to political correctness and being civilized by rejecting racism?

20% of Israeli citizens are Arabs.  This is by intention - when Israel was founded, everybody living there at the time was welcome to remain as a full Israeli citizen.

Although Israelis do come in every race, most of them belong to the same race as Arabs.

Again, what you say about the US used to be true; but accusations of racism against innocent people have become so exaggerated that most people, even most Blacks, know it has gone beyond reality or sense.  Consequently, it has become quite acceptable for Whites and others to say they are not racist if accused.

Nice trolling you are doing there.

I noticed you didn't say being called a racist was the same as being *called* a child rapist you said it was the same as *being* a child rapist.

So, not only do you pretend a ridiculous moral equivalence between child rape and racism, you pretend it is the *accusation* of racism (whether warranted or not) is the moral equivalent of the actual act of rape.

    Keegan,

When a country is called Apartheid like Israel, your comparison does not work, you can not compare a civilized culture like the USA to a racist culture like Israel.

When Nelson Mandella asked the Israeli prime minister to end Apartheid, he was called evil.

When a country legislate racism, by segregating Jews and Arabs, this country is called Israel, or Apartheid.

Actually, racism towards Arabs is called out on in Israel. There is no shortage of Israelis who'll call out racist rhetoric or action towards Arab individuals, and honestly will be far more outspoken about openly condemning it than you may believe. And I'm not just talking self-loathing or far-leftist Israelis who go so far as to fetishize diversity, since there are many examples of unapologetically patriotic Israelis out there as well. I won't deny that there are racist Israelis out there, racism exists in all societies unfortunately... but, it's definitely not allowed to run rampant in Israeli society. Just try to attack a hijabi, Arabic-only speaking woman in any Jewish-majority city... it won't end well from you.

One thing I sometimes note is that examples of racist rhetoric people show me to "convince" me Israelis are some sort of racist, unsalvageable people are often articles condemning the action FROM Israeli sources or are neutral but littered with Israeli comments disgusted by it. I've even pointed out that they're very pro-Israel sources, too, and not Ha'aretz (which many feel courts anti-Israel patrons, at least with their English edition). It's almost like so many Israelis hold themselves to be better than that... which, is actually true. Your "no condemnation" claim is nothing more than bs, which is utterly apparent if you are actually familiar with Israel and Israelis.

Still, to explain the racism that does exist against the Arabs: It may have something to do with the Arab-Israeli conflict, which has at times been escalated to full-blown *WAR* and has seen terrorist action take lives from Israelis. At the turn of the century, so many Israelis were afraid of Arab suicide bombers and having the last thing they hear be an Arabic phrase. While a lot of Israelis are better than this, many still displace their feelings against armies and terrorists who were Arab on others who share nothing but an Arabic background.

In addition, you have to remember so many Israelis are, by *some* definitions, are Arab themselves. Actually, in defining Mizrahi Jews as "Arab Jews"... you could say that Israeli Jews are MORE Arab than not!!! Mizrahi Jews DON'T define themselves as Arab, and historically never have, but most did live in Arab-majority lands. They saw themselves as a different people but one that lived alongside the other peoples there, akin to how Copts or the Druze function today. And, unfortunately, the grand majority of Jews of the Arab world have left that world behind, with just a small handful of communities remaining. Most left due to the bigotry that they felt there, which in cases could be described or defined as racism itself. It's ironic to some that the "Arab Jews" are, statistically speaking, the most likely to discriminate against Arabs... but, in looking at history, particularly recent history where their families have been exiled or even killed, it kinda makes sense to others.  Still ,most Mizrahim don't approve of racism towards Arabs (or anybody, really), but there are huge reasons we can see it come from their communities.

Now, to get off of the Arab issue specifically, I should point out that Israelis don't care for being "politically correct" because they're blunt: They call it as they see it. Israelis actually do care a lot for people, but they're less concerned about seeming the most morally superior to outsiders. They recognize most of it is held up on flimsy soapboxes. Rather, Israeli prefer to show how good they are through their actions, for example being rather expedient dispatching aid and rescue workers to disasters around the world. They may not always keep their comments to themselves, but they still treat people wonderfully and at least you'll know exactly where you stand with them.

As for rejecting racism... Israel has actually done a better job of it than you may realize. Sure, some people hyperfocus on Arab-Israeli issues but we are talking about multiple "races" here. Hell, Ashkenazi/Sephardi/Mizrahi were once seen as rather racial subcategories (though these ethnic groups are shown to be rather close) but Israelis no longer care. If we view those as races, then Israeli "racism" is failing as the Israelis are so incredibly mixed by those standards: Most kids now are mixtures of multiple backgrounds. Israel has spent globs of money to rescue Jews of all sorts of racial backgrounds, and while things still aren't perfect Israelis aren't shy about discussing these things and have better hope regarding their future. I think that's incredibly civilized.

    Hello Keegan,

In the Asker's question-details he wrote:

"[...] why are the people of Israel opposed to political correctness and being civilized by rejecting racism?"

While some individuals in any country may unfortunately be racist, there is no evidence of any general racism in, or by, Israel, and also the reader will have noticed that those who make that false-allegation typically-provide for their falsehood:

     > No detail,

     > no objective-sources;

     > Zero evidence.

Remember, to qualify to be murdered by a “Palestinian” Arab you must be Jewish and there is no lower age restriction. A reward-pension is then paid to the family of the terrorist out of “The Palestinian Authority Martyrs Fund” (see below); (the P.A. in turn funded by the “European Union”).

    - - - - Start of extract: - - - -

“23 August 2019 ... Israeli girl ... Rina Shnerb [age 17 was killed; she] had been hiking with her brother Dvir and her father Eitan near a natural spring outside Dolev when an improvised explosive device blew up.”

    Extract source:

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-4944703...

    - - - - End of extract - - - -

Thus racism there is, but not of Israel but of the “Palestinian” Arabs. Accusing Israel of racism is therefore reverse-fact, describing rather Palestinian policy.

Pro-Palestinian contributors similarly often falsely-accuse Israel of “Apartheid” also with zero evidence. In reality there is no evidence of any “Apartheid” in, or by, Israel, whereas the Palestinians have expelled any Jewish population from all areas under Palestinian control and then falsely-claimed “Apartheid” against Israel !

The Palestinians put to death any Jew that they find near there:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_kidnapping_and_...

Palestinian false-complaints about: “oppression” / “(mis) treatment” / “discrimination” / “racism” / “persecution” / “being treated as 2nd class”: Is Palestinian frustration at Israeli security measures getting in the way of the on-going Palestinian war of ethnic-hatred, targeting Israeli Jewish civilians including children.

While there is no evidence that Israel targets civilians, the Palestinians are by their very policies anti-Semitic (anti-Jewish), being taught hatred against Jews by their education system, and seek to take ALL the land of Israel and expel or murder the Jews.

No wonder anti-Semites display such emotional-support for the “Palestinian” Arabs !

Once the “Palestinian” Arabs had tricked Israel into giving them autonomy of part of the West Bank and the whole of Gaza under the Oslo Accords, the Palestinians since:

     > Do not sincerely negotiate any peace treaty.

     > Make an unverifiable false-claim to ALL the land of Israel.

     > Want to expel the Jews from the Jews ancestral-homeland of Israel.

     > Have expelled any Jewish population from all areas under Palestinian control and then falsely-claimed “Apartheid” against Israel !

     > Consider themselves at war with Israel.

     > Attack Israeli Jewish civilians as policy including children (see below).

Due to anti-Semitism many people do not require any proper moral standard from the “Palestinian” Arabs.

The Palestinians cynically whitewash their anti-Jewish hate-war as:

    “uprising”, “defence”, “desperation”, “struggle”, “resistance:

The “Palestinian” Arabs are addicted to ethnic-hatred against Jews, so if Palestinians injure or kill an Israeli Jew including children, and the Palestinian terrorist is imprisoned as a result, the “Palestinian Authority” aka Fatah (the P.A. is funded by the “European Union”) and the “Palestinian Liberation Organisation” pay a reward-“pension” to the family of the attacker:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3510827/Re...

    - - - - Start of extract: - - - -

“The Palestinian Authority Martyrs Fund is a fund operated by the Palestinian Authority for the purpose of paying a monthly cash stipend to the families of Palestinians killed, injured or imprisoned for involvement in attacking, assisting in attacking, or planning to attack Israel [...]”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_Authorit...

    - - - - End of extract - - - -

    - - - - Start of extract: - - - -

“In the Amended Palestinian Prisoners Law 19 of 2013, the payments were actually enhanced for a terrorist who commits a violent act and is jailed.”

The “Palestinian Authority Martyrs Fund” and “Hamas”, both brought to you by “European Union” funding of the “Palestinian Authority” aka Fatah:

    http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2013/10/th...

Many who demonstrate in European countries against anti-Semitic damage to Jewish tomb stones, have no problem with their governments continuing to fund the Palestinians, thereby also funding the Palestinian ongoing war of ethnic-murder against Israeli Jewish civilians including children.

The Palestinians celebrate attack on Israeli Jewish civilians:

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-36486918

Here follows some of that inconvenient-information that pro-Palestinian contributors chose to filter-out from their answers when they falsely-complain about Israeli security measures on the West Bank, as:

“oppression” / “(mis) treatment” / “discrimination” / “racism” / “being treated as 2nd class”:

The following examples explain just why Israel has been forced by Palestinian racist terrorism, to have reasonable security measures on the West Bank:

    - - - - Start of examples of Palestinian Racist Terrorism on the West Bank: - - - -

    March 16, 2018, West Bank:

A Palestinian rammed his car into four Israeli soldiers standing outside of the Mevo Dotan settlement in the West Bank, killing two and injuring two.

    February 5, 2018, West Bank:

Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal was waiting for a bus outside the Ariel settlement. Abed al-Karim Adel Asi [...] ran towards Ben-Gal, and stabbed him in the chest with a knife [... who, shortly after ...] collapsed and succumbed to his wounds.

    January 10, 2018, West Bank:

Rabbi Raziel Shevach was killed in a drive-by shooting near the West Bank city of Nalbus on January 10, 2017. The victim was driving when his vehicle was targetted by assailants in a passing car [...]

    September 26, 2017, West Bank:

An Israeli border police officer and two Israeli security guards were killed in a shooting attack in the West Bank settlement of Har Adar [by ...] Palestinian Namir Mahmoud [...]

    July 21, 2017, West Bank:

A 19-year old Palestinian assailant climbed a fence and infiltrated the Israeli settlement village of Halamish [...] and stabbed three of the family members to death, seriously injuring a fourth.

    April 6, 2017, West Bank:

One Israeli soldier was killed and another seriously wounded in a car-ramming attack on a Route 60 bus stop outside the West Bank settlement of Ofra.

Test yourself: Anti-Semites are: Willing to happily-accept what pro-Palestinians allege against the Jews / Israel, while being Unwilling to demand objective-verification.

Palestinian joy at the murder of civilians, extends also to the United States of America - please see source for Palestinian reaction to 9/11:
