My ancestors were murdered by Genrikh Yagoda in Soviet Union gulags.  How do I get reparation money?

Genrikh was a Jewish person, not Russian. Stated to not sully good Russian people's reputation... I doubt reparations can be had.

You can sue the USSR. Keep in mind the following...

1- The USSR no longer exists

2- In any case, you would need irrefutable evidence that the murder occurred

3- You would need to probe that the murder in this case was extrajudicial

4- You would need to prove that the alleged murder was against the law at the time.

You should know that the laws in the Soviet gulags was very unclear with regards to killing prisoners who may have violated a rule.
