The Speaker of the House is elected by the members of the House which currently has a solid Democratic majority.  As long as her leadership is valued by the other House members she will continue to preside over parliamentary procedures in the House.  The hair appointment was a setup by the salon owner as attested by the salon employee who was present at the time and the owner has since closed up shop and left town in disgrace.

Is she toast? No, she's a human. But she might eat some toast for breakfast. Preferably with jam. 

I'm surprised she's still alive. She talks like she's had a major stroke. Always stuttering and 90% of her face barely moves. Could be botox though.
