Why didn't the guy who killed Hitler get a statue of himself?

Because the person who killed Hitler, who just so happened to be Hitler himself, was not very popular at the time

Because it's believed that Hitler bit a capsule of potassium cyanide while shooting himself in the right temple with a pistol.  Some have speculated that he may have had too much problem with balance due to inner-ear damage from the 20 July '44 assassination attempt & wouldn't have been able to accurately direct the pistol.  They suggest that wife Eva (who was an excellent shot) may have shot him.  No matter how you choose it, Hitler died either wholly by his own hand, or with the aid of another Hitler.  So to compensate, you'd need a statue of both.
