My friend says there are many cows on Indian roads. Is this an insult or is this actually true ?
If so, how is this possible ?

YES it is true.
INSULT to who?
That cows can wander the streets in India means what in your land.
Does it sometimes result in accidents or other problems. YES
Rare to have emergency round ups like in USA.

This is old news to be honest. You do see cows on roads once in a while but that is not because they are sacred but because those are stray and the government does not have the resources to resolve this problem. Same with dogs, you see stray dogs on every other street and on roads but that doesn't make them sacred, its a problem that will be resolved gradually.

Indian religion holds cows as sacred, so you probably will see cows in areas that you normally wouldn't in other countries, such as in towns and on roads.

Cows are worshipped there and are allowed to wander ANYWHERE they wish.

They are everywhere, and you are not allowed to chase them away, they come into houses, malls, shops eating places, all over, not just the roads

Probably true because the cow is considered sacred in India. They’re used mostly for farm work.

Cows are revered as holy entities in India so they are left to go wherever they may please.
