Should Australia turn the ABC into a online subscription only service like what Boris Johnson is going to do with the BBC?

It's a good start but I don't think it goes far enough.  Publicly funded broadcasters have an  inherent left wing bias and if the idea of a having publicly funded propaganda machine for left wing parties isn't soundly defeated it's just going to reemerge/grow back to the threat it once was.

The ABC only spend one billion each year. They could just do it better.

Those in the bush depend on the ABC as an important source of information, the UK doesn't rely on it as such, anyways aren't they doing hard enough?
