For a holiday in june...cuba or barbados?
Any pros and cons of either?

May - October is rainy season for Cuba, so you may want to check the weather in Barbados for that time instead. Nov - April is Cuba's dry season, which normally means less rain and the best time to go to Cuba on vacation.
I haven't been to Barbados, but I have been to Cuba (to a resort I just wanted to hang out on a beach) in 2019 for Easter and once before about 20 +years ago. I'm planing on going again around Easter and to the same location as I was at in 2019.
The weather was fantastic and the people are friendly. Decent food and good rum. Cons for Cuba, there's limited wi fi and you have to pay for it to get it. Also not every one knows English, so you may want to brush up on some Spanish phrases just in case. You also have to fill out a travelers visa, which isn't a big deal but you have to do it every time you go to Cuba.

Both are very rich in history. We preferred Cuba. The first time we visited we toured Cuba for 10 days with a Cuban tour guide. We stayed in several different hotels and motels that provided meals. We never had any complaints about food or our rooms. There are always the few that you can't please. The people of Cuba are very friendly and very helpful. After our tour, we spent 7 days at an all inclusive resort in Varadero. The food and rooms also very good. Beautiful sandy beaches and a great place to recover from our tour.
We have been to Cuba three more times to some of the areas we toured.

Why those two? There are quite a number of islands in the Caribbean. If you're an American, you can travel to Cuba- you just have to say that you on an educational visit. But they don't have the kind of infrastructure that some of the other islands have, or the fancy resorts. If you want some authentic culture, and you aren't too picky about hotels and food, go to Cuba. Most Americans, unfortunately, go to all-inclusive resorts so that they have no contact with the local people or culture.
