    UK - minimum wages over 25 £8.72, 21-24 £8.29, 18-20 £6.45, under 18 £4.55, apprentice £4.15

Maximum hours - limited to 48 hours per week for over 18s unless employee opts out (which many people are... encouraged... to do). Under 18s can't work for more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week.

All UK citizens have access to universal healthcare in the form of the NHS, which covers most everyday health needs. Adults under 60 need to pay for dental and eye care, but it is nowhere near as expensive as in the US.
