Why do Democrats attack each other in the debates?

Trump must be laughing, because they are doing Trump's job for him as they try to destroy each other. Instead, would it not make mores sense for them each to present their policies and experience for comparison, but to work together as a team against the Republicans?

When they gang up and attempt to destroy frontrunners like Biden's chances, they are destroying themselvs as a party.

It is a presidential debate and a process of eliminating the weakest from the herd. It is good practice for the big event.

What is clear, from last night, with the exception of a few, is that none of them were nearly as good as President Obama who is one of the best debater, motivational, and public speaker in US history. They should be studying him.

You’re an idiot. If they didn’t have opposing views on subjects what would the point of a debate be?

You appear to have a memory equivalent to a moth's. The things other Republicans said about Trump prior to him being the candidate are as bad or worse.

Remember the Republican discussing, ahem, "hand" size?

They should have been nice like Trump during his primaries.

There are two types of Democrat candidates for 2020.

Those who are so old they might not be around to run again in 4 years so this is there last chance.

The rest of the candidates are building a name for themselves to run again in 2024.

None of these munchkins have a hope in 2020.

Presidents are almost always elected to a second term unless the economy crashes or a third party candidate splits the vote.

With the best economy in over half a century Trump will easily be re-elected

    It is a debate.

What are they suppose to do just stand around and agree with what anyone else says?

It is called a debate for a reason.

Has the far right become so conditioned to TrumpSpeak that they dare not question the Fuhrer?

nope; they are putting on a show.......to see who has the most chutzpa to go up against Trump.

Whoever gets the nomination will have the backing of the entire Democratic team of candidates.

So many of them, they have to work extra hard to stand out. There is nothing new about this, the same thing happened in the GOP debates in 2016. They constantly attacked each other, no one more childishly than Trump.
