Do you believe the Elgin marble sculptures of the Athenian Acropolis should be returned to Greece or stay displayed in England?

Where do you think these sculptures should be displayed? The British Museum in London, the Acropolis Museum in Athens, or somewhere else? Why? What is the perfect solution to this controversy? Share your ideas.

They should stay where they are. period.  It belonged to the ancients who were all wiped out by the Romans. modern greeks have no claim to the marbles.

    Fully agree with Polyphemus.

Greece owns them by rights. However, I believe that artifacts are better off in London than in Athens. The British government has more funding, organization, and competence, and British archaeologists are traditionally the world's most renowned. Disaster is more likely to befall Athens than London; the only chaos to strike the latter in recent centuries was the Blitz.

Farther, the display of Greek artifacts in London may inspire people to visit Greece.

They should be returned to the previous owners. The heirs to the Ottoman Empire, the Turks. They take much better care of their ancient sites than the hairy goat legged creatures who live around the foot of the acropolis in Athens do.

The Parthenon is a complete waste of time. You should visit Pergamon or Ephesus or any of the other great sites of antiquity instead.
