Question about connecting flights?

This is probably a dumb question, but I've never flown before. I live where there isn't a really major airport, so when I look at flights it's from my city to ATL (connecting flight). Then it's a layover to the city I want to travel to, and it says ATL to Destination City. My question is, when I arrive at the city I'm traveling to, does the flight say from ATL to the Destination City, or from My City to the Destination City?

ATL to your destination. So when you have someone meeting you at destination, tell them the flight and arrival time out of ATL so they'll know where to meet you and when.

When flying into ATL, that will be designated as the flight out of My City.

The signs at baggage claim (or anywhere else at that airport) will say that the flight came from ATL (and possibly any other city that same flight came from before ATL).

It isn't going to say anything about where you came from if that was a different flight. If there are 100 people on that plane, they probably started out in 50 different cities. Do you think they are going to list all of them?

You will take two flights. One will be listed from City A to Atlanta. The other will be listed from Atlanta to City B. Each flight will have its own flight number.

Don't worry about where you are coming from, think about where you are going TO. And every flight has a number - it's on your tickets. Walk into the airport and all over the place are big, digital boards that list all flights. One is arrivals and one is departures. Look at departures, find your flight number and the city you are going to - even if it's just one leg, you are going to that city. And the gate number - where the plane is. Go to the gate and get on the plane. Next airport, if necessary, do it all over again. You'll get on the plane to Atlanta, and then the plane to Denver, and then the plane to LA, and then finally to your destination in Las Vegas. Like that.

Each flight is a separate event. Your first flight is from city X to ATL. That flight is over, done, finished. The next flight is from ATL to destination, completely separate event.
