Have you looked at their immigration rules or do you think you can just turn up and live there?

NZ is a very small country, with very limited opportunities, but quite safe if you can afford to live there. What are your qualifications for either temporary employment visa or immigration there?

E.g. check out housing costs & note that's NOT the "asking price" for the house or property. That's the minimum bid, and sales price is typically at least double that. Despite the recent drop in housing prices, median price in Auckland is $820,000. Got that much handy?

Sure - but you first need to qualify for a visa

IF you can manage to emigrate to New Zealand... and that's the hard part... it will be awesome. Safer than 99% of the rest of the planet? Yes. I mean, well, no place on the planet that has human beings is completely safe, but New Zealand is pretty much as good as it gets. Speak English? Great, no problem, New Zealanders speak English. Weird English, but it is English, slightly easier to understand than the Scottish.

It's probably has it's own problems like anywhere else. If you are serious about moving anywhere then take a holiday there and check it out. You'll only know if it feels right for you by visiting it

New Zealand has a lot of earthquakes. Best you keep looking.

Why would New Zealand willingly permit US trash to move there?

Update: By your logic and seeing as that is what 90 percent of the American users of this site seem do, that is a serious amount of "garbage" you have living in the United States.
