Can we all breathe a collected sigh of relieve now that the duke has been forced to give up driving.?

Are the rumours true that he has had a new helicopter delivered real ?

I am not relieved. I was never fearful. There are few perfect drivers.

All people should be judged on their own driving skills - whatever their age.

If Philip assessed that he should stop driving - so be it. I imagine that, even if he passed a medical and driving test, he would have been very shaken by the accident.

He wasn’t forced to give up driving, he voluntarily handed in his licence and that doesn’t stop him from driving on his family’s private estates.

It's relief, not relieve and it's Duke, not duke. Just saying.

No , he will probably take up cycling on public roads

Actually I feel sad for him that this has had to happen. I suspect the police have decided he was to blame for the accident so he's had to accept reality. He hasn't been forced to stop driving btw, considering they own huge estates with lots of private roads he could still continue to drive on. He has only handed in his Licence which was inevitable at some point - sooner than later.

    He was not forced.

He doesn't need a licence to drive around the Royal estates, Windsor, Sandringham, Balmoral. He can still pick people off there.

The likelihood that the majority would ever be on a road at the same time, even if he were driving, were always very slim. I'd be more worried about many other people still driving.

Yes, but it should have happened a long time ago. Arrogant old fool waited until he nearly killed somebody.
