Is it ok to ski by yourself?
Or will I look like a loser?

You won't look like a loser at all, no. Many people ski by themselves, either because they don't have anyone to go with or just because they like the solitude. Honestly, no one will likely notice. Have fun!

Yes! I met a lot of nice people sharing the chairlift. I used to ski by myself a lot when I was younger. I wanted to learn fast, so I used to go all the time on my day off whether or not I had someone to go with. Even when I went with friends some would be done skiing after lunch, content to sit at the bar, while I'd be out there to the last chair. Often we'd split up and meet later so that we could ski other trails. If you're at a ski area on marked trails you should be fine. If you're going off trail, back country then go with someone, and tell others where you're going, how long you plan to be there, etc.

It’s perfectly fine to ski alone unless you’re skiing off-piste, performing tricks or skiing above your skill level. Skiing alone on groomers is perfectly fine and you’ll get through the lift line faster too.

For safety sake NEVER ski alone, but you can stay on slopes with traffic if you have no partner. As a senior I seldom have anyone at my skill level with the time to ski when I do so I stay on runs with a good flow of other riders in case of an accident.

It's cool to jet-ski alone.
