I used to have a chinese 3rd party 9inch android satnav that goes inside the dashboard and one of the factory apps showed details about the car including how much volts the car battery has (so in other words... battery life,

Battery voltage DOES NOT show battery life.
in a properly operating car, the battery shou8ld show about 13.5 volts ANY TIME THE CAR IS TURNED ON. The batter in the car is recharged by the ALTERNATOR whenever the engine is running.
The only time the battery volage is less than that is (A) the battery is bad (B) The alternator is bad or not running.
