Why human hair doesn't stop growing?

While most of other animals have their hair length limited, without any barber shop. Even the great apes, our closest relatives in animal kingdom, does not hairs to their waist.

Human hair falls out after awhile. That length of time determines the length to which the hair can grow. Eyelashes only live about six months and so are the shortest. Head hair lives the longest. Beard hair can get pretty long too.

I assume that you have never had a cat or a dog. They hair does continue growing with older hairs falling out.

    Ever wonder why dogs shed?

Hair does not stop growing. The older, long hair falls out and new hair grows in to replace it. With old hair falling out and new hair growing in, it *appear* there is no change in hair length.
