does America deserve a dictatorship?
some hours ago, I asked a question about how to fund "Medicare for All". [see https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20170...
So far, no valid answers have been offered.
Is America so economically illiterate that we deserve a dictatorship telling us what we MUST do?

We do have an ever growing segment of the population who believe that our Constitution is outdated, the same people who are more than willing to give up freedom for security. The proof is in the number of people who have a problem with freedom of speech, their speech in their mind is acceptable, mainstream and righteous while the speech of those with whom they disagree borders the Red Line of unacceptability the Red Line that they are more than willing to protect by any means necessary. Unbeknownst to them they want to be ruled by a large government that they favor, a government that will pick the winners and losers by mass regulation. Not only do they want this as a protection for themselves but they want to force it on others for their own good.
The greatest thing about the last 8 years it provided a complete lesson in Civics, now maybe the next 8 years will provide a tutorial in Governmental Economics along with Micro and Macro Economics as we tackle health insurance, public policy and tax reform.
Many have learned nothing but anger in the past 8 years and are at this time are so delusional in their anger I'm afraid they will not learn these lessons that are penitent to a free functioning society.
So does America deserve a dictator? Whatever we sow we shall reap!

I think you would enjoy the documentary "The Brainwashing of My Dad." It pretty much explains everything.

No. Democracy means people who disagree with you will be put in charge and someday those people will be voted out. I am sure there are many who hated every day President Obama was in charge and disagree with me that America was better with him and this policies in charge but they were never silent about it. Republican now have their turn and those who disagree with them should never be silent.
President Trump will have his moments of accountability at the ballot box. Democracy is not dead yet. Encourage others to vote and your voice will be heard.

I'll answer your origin question... Legalize marijuana with a huge tax onto it. Also raise taxes on alcohol and tobacco . Anyone who doesn't want to pay for the tax simply doesn't smoke or drink or get high

America as in the US is a lot like many counties, it deserves what it reaps, as in you reap what you sow. The lection of Trump was the selling of the American presidency and for many Trump acts and likes other dictators. If we celebrate "capitalism and elitism" over democracy then our republic is in danger of dictatorship!

No. We have the right to bear arms. There will never be a dictator here.

You agreed to it for Obama care. Why change your mind now?
People should buy their own health care plan and let the government get out of it altogether.
