Update:
Does Dr. Talos's play borrow any elements from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'? Asking as elements of his play seem reminiscent of it, particularly the space it is performed in.

With Gene Wolfe anything's possible, but the answer is yes. As far as Dr. Talos is concerned, though, remember that it's his friend, Baldanders, that's pulling the strings.
