ObamaCare! I went through the annual application today...?

I was told that I don't earn enough income to qualify for assistance in paying for health insurance under the program. In other words: unlike people who earn more than me and who (therefore) receive help in paying for health insurance under ObamaCare (as I once did), I (now) do not earn enough money to receive help in paying for health insurance.

I am forced to pay full price or do without.

Question #1: Is it any wonder that I call it "ObamaDon'tCare"?

Question #2: Is it any wonder that I consider the program a dismal failure? It fails to do the very thing it was (supposedly) designed to do!

    You should call it MyStateGovernmentAndTheSuprememCourtDon'tCare.

The law that Obama signed would have given FREE insurance to you (and everyone who doesn't make enough to get help paying for insurance), so you wouldn't have to pay anything.

The Supreme Court decided to leave that part of the law up to the states, and your state decided not to let you have the free insurance that the Obama gave you.

If you make over ninety thousand a year you don't qualify, the program is designed for middle income workers. There are three hundred thousand people in this country, twenty million are covered by the law, you're not one of them.

And don't worry, Republicans have vowed to eliminate it, so now you still won't be able to afford it, but you'll have lots of company.

    Happier now?

the way it works is that, if you don't make enough, they tell you to apply for Medicaid,

but if you have too much in assets to qualify, you still have to apply and get a denial letter, then you can get help from Obamacare subsidies.

it's stupid that they make you apply for something you're not eligible for but that's how it works.

alternatively; it might be easier to mis-estimate your income, claim you're expecting to make more than you actually will, so Obamacare won't give you a hard time for that.

it can always be corrected later on your tax returns, if you don't make as much as you anticipate.

Remember that you're ESTIMATING NEXT YEAR'S income, so it doesn't have to be accurate as that could obviously change.

I realize Republicans hate truth, but facts are stubborn things. Average life expectancy is UP, in the US, since the inception of Obamacare.

You need to apply for Medicaid, your sneak-peek at what Socialized Medicine will look like in America now that the Dims have irreparably broken our healthcare system.
