Could Someone Explain If This Answer Was A Violation.?

Here was the question:

Yes meat does have carbohydrates, however it's in very low amounts. Those who say no, really haven't gone that deep into nutrition. Below are three different examples, of some of the more popular types of meat.

You will even find a trace amount in various types of fish/seafood. . A simple basic search will help in learning what is or isn't in what you're eating. Now I use nutritiondata.self.com as it has the most complete set of tables. With the labels on food packaging, all to many only cover a few basic nutritional points. The same applies to what you're going to find on most websites, you look at. Now while nutritiondata.self.com isn't perfect, it's the best I've found to date. There is still a good bit of information, that's missing, but it's complete enough, to give anyone a good start, to eating a more healthy diet.

Modifiers are also important with how a food is served and eaten, as these can affect the nutritional values of what you eat. Some of the modifiers are, baked, broiled, canned, cooked (this also includes steamed, dry, or moist heat), dried, dry roasted, fried, raw and roasted. By the way, when it comes down to it, I'm looking for an answer, whether I like it or not. It's how I am, not just here, but in real life. Also if I appeal, what are my odds if someone is willing to go there.

I did appeal, but to no avail. Apparently it was still determined to be a violation.

At SCT Henry, you made some good points, and thereby have earned the best answer, albeit it's on the late side for me to chose a best answer, but I always select a best answer. But I've also have had some events going on in real life, that sidetracked my selection.

    It wasn't a violation, but there are three potential reasons it was reported.

    1. Way too long an answer for the asker.

    2. The asker was posting a "joke" that you took serious (I will not explain)..

    3. A new problem some are having is the asker reposting the question in the answer. That can be a problem sometimes, but not in this case.

    Appeal the violation.

    No, not a violation. I have found that if you give an answer the YA police disagree with, they claim it's in violation. It's not. It simply does not agree with their opinion.

    Technically it was not a violation. You could have just answered the question with "Yes meat does have carbohydrates, however it's in very low amounts."

    Quite possibly you irritated someone and they reported it.

    There was no reason to vaguely suggest by adding "Those who say no, really haven't gone that deep into nutrition." that you were all knowing and added a very long answer trying to show how much you know which was not your personal knowledge.They didn't ask for a book as an answer.

    You were pontificating more than just answering the question.

    There is the fact that you posted the question before you answered which is considered by many as a self serving arrogant way to have your answer at the top.

    I've had perfectly valid answers that were within the scope of TOS and community guidelines reported as well. In the beginning I would dispute them but now tend to just let it go.

    By the looks of things, it's not a violation at all. All you did was provide more than enough facts the asker demanded in their question. Your answer was thoroughly detailed and even provided the links to refer where the information came from. All I have to say you must appeal the violation right away.

    No, this wasn't a violation. Nor is responding with a lengthy answer, or repeating the question in the preface of your answer, a legitimate excuse for reporting it either.

    Uh, nope. THat doesn;t appear to violate any ofo the terms of service.

    If you have been reported, you can simply appeal the violation notice.

    Appeal it and it will be reinstated according to the guidelines.

    the links should be ok - the link rule ( personal site promotion ) only applies to spammers - not reference

    EDIT : though - i do believe restating the question should be a gaming/place holding violation - if every question is answered that way
