Olive Oil - did you know that many countries don't have a food standard on this?

Update:

In Australia we have a standard and are not allowed to add in Canola and other cheaper oils and sell it as Olive Oil? How often do you check the labels before buying these foods?

I didn't know but it doesn't surprise me as we do have a very good watchdog on standards & quality here in the manufacture of food stuffs. Not many countries can say that.

I'm painfully aware. I used to buy oil from a pressing co-op on Crete. None still available this June so I brought home a 1.5 liter can of .02% acidic packed in Sitia.

No, and it really does not matter to me - I can't stand olive oil.

No. But, I'm not surprised. <3
