Can performance-enhancing drugs ever be eliminated from sport?

I hope I am wrong but it seems to me that we will unfortunately never eliminate performance-enhancing drugs from sport because there would be people working for both sides. For example, officials in the testing organisations might secretly be in contact with those making the drugs or even doing it themselves. What do people think?

Of course, everyone would hope enhancing drugs would be eliminated, though that's practically impossible. Always, people are going to create new drugs that can pass the tests of WADA or other doping organizations. Don't forget that this is a very "rich" industry while in addition doping organization can't test and prevent all new enhancing drugs released.

we can not eliminate cheating but if we banned the cheaters on their first drug test failure maybe we can reduce the number of athletes that might cheat.
