When on a cruise ship, do you ALWAYS use the disinfectant gel at the entrance to the dining rooms?

Yet another instance of dirty people spreading disease, this time on the Diamond Princess.

Update:

Obviously bedlam you are one of them, it's actually those who DON'T use it every time that cause any mutation!

Update 2:

By some of the answers, it shows why some cruise lines are starting to insist on no self service in buffet areas, you must now be served by staff. At least that may get rid of the greedy pigs who pile their plates up and leave most of it!

Update 3:

I agree Mrsjvb, we also take Dettol Anti virus spray with us and spray the cabin regularly.

since most people stationed there makes everyone do it, yes. HOWEVER. I also know it ultimately does very little to prevent the spread of Noro and that washing my hands with soap and water is the real prevention. and so i do that FIRST before heading to the DR or Buffet..

and I always carry a small tube of hand lotion to combat the drying effect on my skin.

    Disinfectant Gel

I use the gel, but it's no protection against noro. The gel is for bacteria, it has no impact on viruses. There are anti-viral products you can get. But frequent and very thorough hand washing with soap and hot water is the easiest and most convenient protection.

I've been on 11 cruises and I've never gotten sick. Never had an outbreak on any of the cruise i've taken either, although there was one on a ship I cruised on the week before we left. Our departure was delayed as they did extra cleaning.

I have been on several cruises and always use the hand gel when entering the dining areas. On the ships that I have been on where the staff remind everyone to do that NO ONE and I repeat No one caught any sort of tummy bug. Enough said!!

I was on a Norwegian cruise last October and they had a person at the entrance spraying disinfectant on most every hand that walked through the door.

I use it every single time. Guess what after doing 23 cruises, I have never gotten the Nor-virus. It pays to take precautions.

Shut up and learn how to learn English.

Yes, I do. Years ago, I used to find it offensive and generally declined; years of being brow beaten at the entrance of any food venue has taught me to obey. At most it is a bit annoying..but it is harmless.

Hey, Ragnor, why do you refuse to join me in the debate on the question concerning Blacks in Brittan being called African/American? You seemed to want add your two cents until I challenged you.

If you use the gel, YOU are the one ultimately spreading disease, bubba, because the long-term effects of widespread use of that gel is to enable mutant strains of the bacteria that are resistent to it to spread.
