Are reports to Yahoo Answers about breaches of guidelines read or acted on?

Another answerer has 3 times copied my answer to a mathematics question. One of their answers was even awarded "best answer" by the asker! Presumably the asker didn't notice that it had been copied.

I have reported this answerer 3 times now to Yahoo Answers for breaching their Community Guidelines (cheating) but as far as I can tell, nothing has been done.

Are reports to Yahoo Answers read by an actual person? Are they acted on?

The problem is that the yahoo staff have to become aware of this.

I have reported a guy in the mathematics section beginning with "A" that copies and pastes a top contributor's answer (or at least a very good answer) and then adds his spam details, recommending a maths app for future use..I have a high trust rating and the answer disappears immediately. However Yahoo staff are unaware about this and nothing happens, he just loses 10 points and is free to carry on plagiarising and spamming.

You need to write to yahoo at

    y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

and then hope that your email gets looked at. Very little is done about anything at the moment as yahoo has curtailed its staff dramatically and the few that are left are overwhelmed.

The system is fully automated and staff does not read the reports -- unless the member being reported files an appeal. However, if you email the Yahoo Answers team, it is possible they will investigate the cheater.

For example, in past times, I became frustrated with simply reporting a chronic violator. When I emailed the Y/A Team, they suspended him.

Also, when the problem is a behavior pattern, the member might win an appeal -- because the reviewers only consider the merits of the answer itself.

Read the community guidelines and follow the directions for Intellectual Property, because that is what has been stolen from you.

That might be a whole separate area.

if you don't have a TR level high enough to drop violating posts by yourself then your best hope is that others who do notice and report the guy cause as you can see by all the TD's the trolls are rampant on this site, and unfortunately yahoo staff (if there's any left working on this site) don't really care about this site anymore

They are acted on. Keep reporting the person.
