Could someone explain verses 1Co:15:27 and 28. Do these verses teach that Jesus is not equal to the Father?

  • Jesus is never equal to Father.Father God is the head of Jesus .This is clearly said in 1 Corinthians 11:3.

Also John 1:1-7 and Micah 5:2 says Lord Jesus Christ existed from everlasting past and is not a created being, but he (Jesus ) created all things along with his father God-Elohim.

People need to understand the concept of the Kinsman Redeemer and other roles of Jesus in order to understand what is being said there.

In Isaiah 59 it refers to the arm of the Lord being involved in supplying the world with justice. None other could. Isaiah 53:1 does it too. The role of Jesus is as God's own right hand or arm. It's God.

Jesus, who is God in the role of a human, is subservient to God the Father. Those are two different roles God plays. That is why in Isaiah 9:6 the "son born" can be called "Everlasting Father" at the same time.

So don't read more into Jesus being subservient than is necessary.

EDIT: I'll try to say it this way, the entirety of what Jesus is, is not just a man. He is also God at the same time. The subservient part of who Jesus is, is placing him as a man but in the position of the Kinsman Redeemer at the same time. God became the Kinsman Redeemer of Man, under the Law of the Kinsman Redeemer. The Book of Ruth may help you understand it.

The scripture is clear that Jesus lowered his estate when He took up human form... The Word (Christ) and the Spirit are both Ontologically equal with The father but at the same time they are functionally subordinate to the father.

The trinity represent distinct attributes of God. What some people have difficulty understanding is that these distinct attributes are capable of manifesting personally or taking up a personality because that is beyond our own capabilities.

Yeah, she doesn't like me either.

The entire Bible teaches that Jesus is not equal to his father, until Saul/Paul starts to teach. But Paul doesn't know enough to tell a consistent story and so frequently gets jammed up in the details. Best to just ignore what he had to say. Except for the advice about love and putting away childish things. But his teachings about Jesus are just wrong.

These verses, and all the rest of the Holy Scriptures, teach that Jesus is not equal to his Father.

Jesus said his life came from God and that he was God's son.

(John 10:36) do you say to me whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?

(John 6:57) Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will live because of me.

"For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone" (1 Corinthians 15:27,28. Bible).

When God becomes “all things to everyone”—what a glorious time that will be! The Kingdom will have accomplished its mission. All opposers of Jehovah’s sovereignty will have been eliminated. Peace and order will have been restored throughout the universe. In the words of the psalmist, all creation will sing: “Ascribe to Jehovah the glory belonging to his name . . . Say among the nations: ‘Jehovah himself has become king.’”—Psalm 96:8, 10.

For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

What that passage says to me is that God brought himself low for the sake of humanity. Paul put it in a way without saying something seemingly self-contradictory like "God made himself lesser than himself".

The general gist (obviously you can get more than this out of that particular passage) is that God the Son made himself subject to God, and walked among the rest of us subject to God, so that (as the passage quite aptly puts) "God may be all in all" - i.e. the great separation between us and God would be closed and we would be with him and He would be with us.

Goes well with the concept of "My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people." as iterated in several instances throughout the Bible.

It's about God stepping down to embrace us so we can all be lifted up, in him.

When we concern "Equality" between the Son and the Father in God, then we should analyze and wonder "Equality about what? power, role, attribute, nature, etc...?"

As a reminder about a basic teaching about GOD, YHWH repeated that "YHWH, your God is ONE "... ONE here must NOT be one individual being like one individual human being (as argued by some people) . Unlike one man, the true almighty God is NOT limited by any dimension; God can exist in different form with different roles at the SAME time as desired.

NOTE THAT Jesus commanded his disciple to baptize people with his own phrase "in the name of the F/S/H" (not in the name of God). Then WHAT IS GOD or What is the GOD nature???????

For the Bible, it was written with a basic God teaching that GOD personalized himself as ONE with the holy personal name YHWH for communication to man. As prophesied, GOD came to live as MAN called as the SON or the LAMB of God for salvation (NOTE AGAIN: NOT TO LIVE as GOD or as the Father as confused by many people)

By Jesus, the Son came from the Father in heaven WITH A ROLE like A EARTHY MAN LOWER THAN AN ANGEL .. in order to pour his holy human blood for salvation purpose, and then when the role was finished, the Son had to return to the Father. It is the whole story from God in salvation.

IF we grasp the basic God concept in the Bible, we can understand more about what Jesus revealed himself with many divine teachings

    .

By the role/position "Son and Father" with human concern, OF COURSE the Father is greater than the Son. But... by work and effort and weigh for...MAN (NOTE: not for GOD) , the Son is more active and greater than the Father. Finally, all authorization in heaven and earth have be given to the Son.(NOT to the Father any more!!!!) .

However, for the GOD nature, of course, the F/S/H must be equal to BE GOD. If the SON is not existing, then NOTHING revealed GOD to MAN with HIS WORD in the Bible, and SALVATION NEVER came to man.

If the Father is not existing, then who created the Son? And if the Son is NOT existing, then WHO created the Father for his self-existence or self-creation claim? It is a wonderful mystery from Jesus for His Trinity God nature beyond human brain.

What it tells you is that Jesus actually gave up a status that He will never have again in order to save us.
